Feeling nervous
Hi, I am so glad I have found this site. It has so much information. I think I have known for a long time that I needed to have this op, but it still came as a shock when the doc said it was time. I was great for a few days but now I'm feeling very nervous, and get teary easily. I have a few weeks to get organised because my op is in early July. I would love to hear any of your ideas on how to prepare myself and my family for the next few months.

Feeling nervous
Hi again Nella,
This website has a FAQ's article for Family and Friends. I printed it off and gave it to my hubby for a read. He thought it was really informative and helpful to him. It will be helpful for you too I am sure. Keep yourself busy and positive and spend time pampering yourself or doing 'cool stuff' with your family. Prepare and freeze meals. Buy yourself new moisturisers and pretty nighties/pjs for hospital. Avoid anyone with a cold. Just keep active, but don't exhaust yourself and spoil your family too. Don't worry about being nervous, these moments come and go. Just try to remain focused on how much better you should feel afterward and plan a bonfire for those period granny undies.
Hope this helps a bit. Have you experienced any of the flooding that NSW has been going through?
Take care. Shell XXX

Just wanted to with you ladies best of luck. I had a vag hyst. removes uterus, tubes and both ovaries on May29th. Felling pretty good. Have my good and bad days of course but that will happen.
I was nervous also and scared to death. I talked to my dh and ds then I felt better. I did talk to dh more about this and then a friend sent me this web site and boy I was impressed. Alot of my worries went away by reading the posts.
Wishing you good luck and my Thoughts and Prayers are with all of you.
Keep me posted on how you are doing. See you on the other side Good luck!

Thanks so much all of you, I feel better just reading this site and Knowing I'm not alone. Shell, a bonfire sounds like a great idea for those granny undies lol! We have had some wonderful rain about 4 inches, made our creek run and we were cut off for almost a day, but it was very exciting after the heartache of the drought and feeding cattle and pumping water everyday my dh was very glad to be fixing floodgates. The kids could hardly stay away from the water they kept putting sticks in the ground to measure how high the water was. I really feel sorry for the people in the Hunter Valley and closer to the coast, they have had a terrible time. I really hope everything goes well for you, when do you have to leave? I only have to travel for an hour and a half, I have decided not to head to the big smoke (Sydney) and have my op in a large regional hospital...hope I have made the right decision. I look forward to hearing how you go.
I really like reading the messages about how well things have gone for people, keeps me positive and Im trying to look at this as a really good thing, pain free for the rest of my life yea.

Top of the evening to you Nella. My drive is almost 2 hours to a private hospital with a great reputation. I think you made the right decision by not going to Sydney. You may get more personal attention than you would at a really big, busy hospital. And the staff will be less stressed I am sure. I am very pleased that you haven't experienced that flood, but had good rain. I only live on a 25acre bush block on a hillside - no farming to worry about, but can really feel for how hard it must get for you at times. But very rewarding at others. How old are your kids? Tried to find your age in your profile, but you haven't included it. I moved from Vic to WA 18mths ago. Our creek only ran for 6 days (non consecutive) last winter and so far this year we have only had 37.5mm of rain grrrr. I just had a 216,000ltr tank installed and would like water other than that I had tanked in, fill it LOL.
Anyway, I am getting tired. My son is driving me to the hosp tomorrow (I'm 38 with 22 & 17yo sons) and we are stopping by a shopping centre for some treats on the way. We will leave home at about 12 WAtime. Enjoy your week and add me to your buddy list if you want to stay in touch, but I will post back here when I feel up to sitting at the desk.

Hi Shell, I have sent you a private message...I think....and I don't know how to use the buddy list but I will try find it and see how to use it. I'm 38 too, and I have 3 sons aged 8,13 and 15 a daughter 11. I am also lucky because I have a great hubby, but I really worry about how they will all cope while I'm out of action. Good luck I really hope it all goes well for you, and remember to let you boys pamper you. Do you have good girlfriend or sister close to help as well? I look forward to hearing how it all went, take care.

Feeling nervous
Hello, nice to meet someone with the same date as me. It feels a bit weird at the moment. I'm trying to be really positive and look at this as the begining of the rest of my painfee life. I do worry about my family tho', it will be a bit of a challenge post op. I keep thinking of all the things I need to do before I go to the castle, but it seems too soon. I have started to prepare meals and put them in the freezer. I too have my up and down moments, sometimes I feel great really positive and then I get all teary for no reason keep in touch and let me know how you are going.
