11 weeks post-TAH and still can "feel" it

I had my TAH 11 weeks ago. Got the all clear from my doctor at 6 weeks, doing great. I don't have any pain, I can just still feel where my uterus was. I've started using my ab muscles more, trying to build them back up. I really took it easy for the first 6 weeks. Its mainly when I go to sit up from laying on the couch or getting out of bed. Also when I cough I can feel it. How long before I don't feel like I was cut into?

Certainly, recovery varies widely from patient to patient, but for me it took close to a year. I couldn't exercise on my elliptical trainer for over a year post-op, because doing so seemed to aggravate the still-healing tissues.

Eventually, my lower abdominal area returned to normal and today I feel better than ever.

Hang in there! Listen to your body and do remember to continue to
