dVH/RALH Umbilical hematoma since daVinci hysterectomy

Ok so I've had this hematom since my Da Vinci surgery on 1/31. The doctor said it would dissolve and didn't seem to be concerned so I wasn't either. A couple days ago it started really hurting and I haven't taken pain meds in weeks! Also it is red and hot to the touch at my belly button! Has anyone else had this problem and what will the doctor need to do? I've felt so great these past two weeks and now I'm tired, achy and overall just don't feel good and I wonder if that hematoma is infected?

I am sorry to hear that you are going through this and now experiencing pain as well. It sounds like your doctor want to see if the hematoma was going to dissolve on its own, which some usually do. With the additional discomfort and color you are describing now, I’d give your doctor’s office a call to get some more thoughts or they just may want to see you.

Thank you! I just got back from the doctor and he put me on another antibiotic. He also did some blood work to check a CBC. I just feel like it's one step forward and two steps back. I should've asked for more pain meds but I felt like I was too far out to be taking meds. I just want to feel better soon!!
