How much time off for LSH?

Originally I was only taking two weeks off (I'm a second grade SPED inclusion teacher), but after my doctor's appointment today we decided that I wouldn't go back until after my Christmas break is over. Essentially I will be out of school for three weeks now...as I'm not really counting the break. So my surgery was November 22nd and I won't "officially" go back to work until January 5th. That seems like such a long time! But technically it's only three weeks of work.

How much time is everyone else taking?

I had my LSH on 12/2 and will not return to work until December 28th. I work in the office of a private school and will return while the kids are on break and the office is quiet so I can try to get caught up on things. My doctor told me to expect to be out 3-4 weeks. Don't rush it, we need the time to heal.

I guess three weeks isn't a long time, I just got lucky (I guess? lol) and ended up with it between the holidays. I went to my school yesterday and take them a huge box of candy because they had brought a feast to my house the day before. My fellow teachers told me they thought that I was crazy when I said I'd be back in two weeks! They all told me they would take as much time as possible. I saw all my kids and I missed them so much! I have to confess, I wanted to come back the next day when I was up there. When I got home I realized I was still sore and was glad I wasn't going back to work so soon!
