My Hysterectomy

Hi My name is Lucy I had my surgery on 2/15/05, I have had a urinary and digestive problem since the surgery. I swore I had a UTI and my dr. placed me on antibiotics but did a culture to make sure. well the results came in and it was bacterial so the antibiotics i took for 5 days were stopped and started on a new one. its day six and no relief i have an appointment friday. i have alot of constipation and stomach aches? im taking phyto-estrogen and no longer have the hot cold flashes in the day time. i cant sleep and take tylenol pm. I also get a lot of headaches

Please share with me i need something that works. My dr is great I have been with her since 1992. but i am scheduled to return to work soon and want to be healthy

My Hysterectomy

Hi Lola,

With my 2 latest UTI's I didn't really feel better until a day or two after I'd completed my antibiotic. Since you recently switched to an antibiotic more suited for your infection, it may just be a matter of giving it more time.

I had headaches in the early phase of my HRT but they resolved within a couple weeks. My insomnia however was a different story! That was really bad. I finally mentioned it to my Dr. at my 6 week visit and finally ended up with a prescription sleeping pill to get my sleep cycle back on track. I think I took it for aobut 2 weeks. The good night's sleep made such a huge difference in my recovery! Make sure you write down your questions for your upcoming visit. Some women keep track of their menopausal symptoms too, so they can share that with the dr. I jotted notes down on my refrigerator calendar for a while.

I hope you get rid of those headaches and have some wonderful sleep soon. Your body will heal better when you're sleep returns to normal. Take care~

Best wishes & s,
Beth
