Numbness and tingling in right leg and foot 5 days Da Vinci Post-op

Hi, I'm new here. I had a Da Vinci hysterectomy on August 17th. I have been doing surprisingly well but today I started having numbness and tingling in my lower right leg and foot. It doesn't hurt but it is really disconcerting. Has anyone else had this happen? If so is there cause for concern?

Re: Numbness and tingling in right leg and foot 5 days Da Vinci Post-op

About 4 days after my Da Vinci hysterectomy the outside half of my right thigh went numb. I was afraid it was a sign of a blood clot. I called the doctor and he said it was due to the manipulation of my leg during surgery. Apparently whatever position they put you in plays havoc with your nerves. (And FYI, he said that a clot is usually accompanied by a lot of pain.)

It's persisted for the past 7 weeks, getting better VERY slowly. About three weeks ago I started to have some pain on the outside of my thigh that felt like a very deep bruise (although I don't have any bruising that shows on my thigh). I am still having some pain and numbness.

Just to be on the safe side you should contact your physician. It very well could be just from how they had u during surgery. Just for your piece of mind and just in case you should call. I hope you feel better soon!! Hugs!!

I had some tingling in the insides of my thighs. It was like a direct line.
My doctor said that it may be that in removing the uterus, he may have touched some nerves.

I am hoping that it eventually stops feeling strange.

Are you STILL having nerve problems 6 months later?

My numbness is taking a long time (to me) to resolve. I can't imagine it lasting that long!

I know.
It is off and on for me.
If it were major I would demand he do something.
