mood swings

Hi everyone me again! Ill be 4 weeks post op this Wednesday phyically I'm doing alright. What my question is has anyone else has somewhat of a personality change? To be more specific lately I noticed that I'm not myself I'm meaner to my bf in ways more short tempered and just pulling my self away. I know I made the right decision with having the surgery and not trying for a baby since my health was at stake but since he gave the final no we r not going to try for a baby I look and him and I almost "hate" him and feel he held me back from a future child but then deeply I know I love him and it isn't his fault that he was just worried he would lose me and my girls would be motherless and then since the girls are from a previous marriage he'd lose them too. So I don't know what is going on with me I feel I have lost myself in all this that I'm treading water but starting to sink. Any one have any thing like this going on? Sorry if this doesn't make sense I tried my best to explain.

Re: mood swings

Kassie

Sorry to hear you are experiencing these mood swings.

There are a couple of thoughts that i have, one is that your hormones might not be balanced. Sometimes they can shut down for a bit.

The other thing is that you have unresolved feelings about all of this and you are projecting them.

In both cases talk to your Dr. She / he may check your hormone levels and you could ask about a counsellor or therapist.

You can also post on the Aching Hearts forum too about your grief over this.

Re: mood swings

I am only 5 days post op, and I feel myself becoming meaner towards my DH. I am snappier, and just get mad easier. I think I am going to be telling my doc to call in meds for me. I hope it gets better for you!

Thank you both for your reply. I will definitely talk to my doctor about it more I am on a small dose of prozac already to help me through the stresses of dealing with all the health issues I have had. But maybe talking to someone will help more to. I'm sad for others who go through this too but kinda relieaved I'm not the only one.
