Itching!

This is my second day since my surgery. I'm taking meds for pain but the itching around the site Iis driving me crazy! I had the da Vinci surgery. Any suggestions, please?

I would assume itching is pretty normal but you may want to mention it to the nurses (if you're still in the hospital). It could be a reaction to the pain meds.

I'm at home now. I think I'm going to call my doc. The itching is nowhere else. Strange

Itching can be a normal healing reaction, or it can be an allergic reaction, or possibly from other causes, too. If you sites are red & inflamed, then you may have an infection. If not, then it may be an allergic reaction and a different pain med will help. Ask if you can take an antihistamine to help with the itching, also.

I itch, too, but not particularly near my incisions. It could also be dry skin itchiness.

I had itching as my skin reacted to adhesive dressings that were used. Check with your doctor. Good luck!
