Pre op jitters

I'm scheduled at the Castle 4/20 - ovarian cyst and numerous fibroids. Cramping 18 out of 24 hours every day - it wakes me up an night - still figure I can fit 2 more periods in before then! What will I feel like when this is over??? Such a big step.

Pre op jitters

I have had the same pains, cramping and aching that wakes me up 3 weeks of the month, not to mention the constant pain of a fibroid (I guess) aching at one side or another.
Yet, I can't believe it. I had pains until I made my surgery appt.
Surprisingly since, I have been pain free!
Now, after all my suffering I'm wondereing what to do.
Dr. told me he doesn't have a crystal ball.
This site has been so wonderfull, I have felt so much more confident because of it!
Good luck with your journey.
Stilll I'mwondering what to do......

Jitters

I am 1 week and 1 day post op TAH. I feel great..... feel as if the poison has been removed from my body. Very thankful that it is over and that I did it. The first 2-3 nights I had night sweats something I had never had before. They disappeared as quickly as they appeared and have no other symptoms so far. For the first time in the last 4 years (due to personal issues and health) I wake with a smile on my face and joy in my heart. It's been a long time coming and I am truly enjoying every minute of it. Good luck to you.

Pre op jitters

Good to hear of others like me. With the cramps and HEAVy frequent periods I just don't think I want to wait to see if this will pass. I'm 47 and close to menopause anyway. I'm very active and worry about the abdominal incision and being able to bounce back and get back in the swing of life. I'm so moody now and uncomfortable that it can't be much worse???

Pre op jitters

I'm 45 and had my SAH/BSO 9/3/03. It's like a whole new me. No cramps, 12 day periods every 3 weeks, flooding, bloating, diarrhea, migraines (doesn't work for everyone), moodiness. I feel wonderful and I can wear white underwear now. I have white jeans just waiting for warm weather so I can wear them

I was lucky enough to find the right HRT almost right away...started with Vivelle-dot 0.1 and cut it back to 0.05 after the first month. I also have very few problems with post op complications.

Read all you can and ask a lot of questions. It helps to be able to make informed decisions. That way you can feel you've done the best you can for yourself.

Good luck to you!

Pre op jitters

Deadema: Thanks for the words of encouragement! I'm really excited today at the prospect of this being over! The melencoly of last night has been replaced with a very positive attitude! I'm off for a fun weekend with yet another period - hopefully my last!
