Hello sista's...
I am 33 yr old mother of 3 wonderful boys. I had a TVH this last Tuesday the 29th of May.
It all started when I was twelve, the cramps the clots the embarrassment, sweaters tied around my waist, well you all know the drill. Horrible, horrible. Anyways, nothing ever really seemed to help too much, and anything that delivered only one hormone for birth control such as the mini pill, depo shot, and Norplant made me bleed the WHOLE TIME! And if you know what Norplant is, that was a year of nonstop bleeding until I told the doc to rip that mother out of my arm!!! So with that being said, life was mostly hell until I had my first two kids. Suddenly my periods were normal. Although they lasted a full seven days it was nothing as I explained above. However... After my third son, whom I had at age 30, the nightmare resumed only Double! Every two weeks and for ten days!!! My poor husband and kids... Was I ever NOT PMSing???? Then again I had to ask him "do you know any other animal that bleeds that long without dying??? Let's see how grouchy you are!!". See what I mean?? Poor guy. When I couldn't even go a hour at work without leaking through double "artillery" ( thick pad and tampon) I knew this had to end. After consulting with my OB, we decided to take the less invasive route of Novasure (endometrial ablation). Great for my flow, it was reduced to minor spotting, yeah! Unfortunetly it was accompanied by excruciating pain during periods. During ultrasound to find the source we discovered two fibroids... Ugh, it never ends!! It was at this point I realized that living on 1200mg of IBprofrin for 5 days every two weeks is no way to live, not to mention every period I was steadily bleeding more and more. So here I am, 6 days post op and guess what?? I feel absolutely liberated!!!!! I did not realize how much discomfort my uterus brought me only a daily basis. Even without menstration. I have to say, the worse thing and nobody warned me about it, is that darn co2 they blow into your abdomen during the procedure. Holy snikies!! That stuff finds its way all the way up into your shoulders and neck! But today.. So far so good!
