Re: Davinci Question

I had DaVinci yesterday-5 small incisions under the skin and clear glued shut. Home today and they say I can take a shower but no tub baths. No itching and best of all-no constant ripping off of bandages in the hospital at all hours of the night to "check incisions".
Good luck with your surgery and be sure to let everyone know of your tape allergies.

Re: Davinci Question

Sutures plus demabond glue for me after DVH. I related to Drmabond at about day 11. Thsn one of my doctors just peeled off remaining glue, but I was quite itchy for a few days afte. Tell the hospital staff early, often and again about any allergies. Can you withstand. Paper tape???? Good luck, this surgery was great for me and my life is transformed.

Re: Davinci Question

I just had the davinci and they did internal stitches and some type of glue. They don't hurt at all and can get wet. Make sure to tell them of the allergies so they can work around it.
Good luck to you.

Re: Davinci Question

dVH Oct 19th, I got the clear glue. It's wonderful--can shower and just dab dry.

At pre-op intake I was asked all the adhesive questions, which was a good thing.

They used an alternative tape on my hands for the IV.

I had 6 incisions and all were glued shut. So far everything looks good.

Re: Davinci Question

I had daVinci, and I am also allergic to tape. Although I don't know what they are called, I had the tape-type things over my incisions. I don't recall it hurting when they came off.
