warding off UTIs...

I just wanted to remind that aside from staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water,.. and also drinking 3 eight oz. glasses of cranberry juice (or taking 3 cranberry extract capsules a day),... that the other really important factor to help ward off UTIs post-op (& anytime) is to 'go' whenever you need to go... the more you urinate, the less chance bacteria have to grow and thrive. It's reccommended to try to urinate every 3 to 4 hours daily... not giving medical advise here, just notes for good health,.. most of us already know this information, but it never hurts to have a little reminder now & then, especially with everything else we're dealing with right now.

My market sells chocolate covered cranberries - tell me I can substitute 3 8oz. handfuls a day and we'll be friends forever!

I know, just wishful thinking. I really dislike cranberry juice, but will do whatever it takes.

Oh, if you don't like cranberry juice, then do the cranberry extract pills,.. 3 a day will keep you up on your daily intake to help ward off UTIs it says.
I suppose you could always ask about the chocolate covered ones! LOL,.... but, the choc. I'm sure, would eventually work against you in other ways!!! ROFL

PS- I've made a couple of other posts,.. going through my book here for helpful hints to share... I posted one on "defusing gas", and another on "fighting anemia" too, if you're interested. I hope nobody minds me posting threads on this stuff,.. I figure it shouldn't hurt to throw some helpful ideas out there,.. this book is really neat, and full of anything that could ever happen physically in a woman's life, LOL,........ I guess unless I'm told to stop it, I'll keep posting on some of these 'helpful hints' and information... maybe they'll be of use.
