For those of you taking OTC pain pills

Please use caution and only take the reccamended dose. Several years ago I had an uncle who ended up having to have a kidney transplant because he was taking his otc, I don't remember if it was tylenol or motrin, by the handfulls. It destroyed his kidneys.

Since then I have had two cousins in two different states that had to be life flighted out of their hometowns to a trauma center. One of them lost their heart beat twice in the air ambulance. The problem for both of them was bleeding in the stomach, caused by excessive motrin. They both required emergency surgery.

If you are one of the people taking excessive otc, call your dr or go in and tell them how much you are taking. When they realize that you really are in that much pain they will prescribe better pain killers. If your surgery is far out ask to have it moved up.

If you are here on this board and already facing a hysterectomy then you already have your hands full with that issue, you do not need to risk additional health problems from excessive otc pain pills. I know when you are in severe pain you can become desperate to get it to stop. But you have to talk to your dr. Get the right pain pills at the right dosage.
