bowel prep

Has anyone had to use Golytley as their bowel prep, you have to drink a glass of the solution every 10 minutes and it takes 2 hours to finish. I have a hard enough time drinking one glass of anything in an hour, this doesn't sound too good.

Mine is also golytely. A GALLON of it. How much do you have to take? I heard it's like salt water and nasty.

My plan is to EAT-LYTELY for a few days before so I don't have to drink that much, and more importantly "pee-poop it".

My doctor said I could stop when I started going clear. My op is Oct 20th.

I am suppose to finish it, but they said I could mix it with crystal light lemonade

I just had t take an over the counter one phos soda needed 2 bottles of the foul stuff but was only 2 small glasses 2 hours apart, could you not check with the Dr to see if you could change meds. The above one certainly worked well for me........ I was still going the next morning

That's what I'm afraid of, that it won't stop. I plan on starting it earlier in the morning. They said to eat at 10 and start the prep at 12. On the bottle it says no solid food two hours before. ? So I'm going to just start it early and get it done with. I'll be eating very little amounts of food from Thursday on even though the bowel prep is on a Sunday. Sorry if TMI, but I get really sore after going twice and don't want to aggravate it more.

I didn't use GoLytely... my gyn onc had me do the fleet prep kit 1 (sodium phosphate liquid and bisacodyl tabs) - but he modified the instructions. Have to say that worked well for me today. Now, what I really wanted to say was - am I the only one who thinks of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" when they hear or see the name GoLytely? LOL (referring to Holly Golightly). Seriously, perhaps you can persuade your Dr. to do a different kind of prep?
