air travel after the castle

I go in on the 6th for my SAH.

My job requires travel. This year I find myself in a new position that requires more travel than in the past, my first trip will be 7 weeks post-op,.

Can anyone give me insight about air travel after a hyster, how long was it after that you flew, is their anything I need to know or should ask the doc b4 booking these trips? I didn't think to ask anyone until this moment and once I'm in recovery, the boss will begin booking my flights....any advice is greatly appreciated!

I would definitely run this by your doctor. The last thing I can imagine would feel good is that seatbelt pressing against a fairly new incision - and if there's turbulance, ouch. I'd want to know about the posibility of it causing adhesions.

Good luck.

I think that asking your dr is a great idea.
I was released for resuming normal activities at 6 weeks but was still very tender at the incision site and tired very easily. My best advise is to talk with your dr and also listen to your own body. If it hurts, don't do it.

thanks ladies

I know listening to your body is important, sometimes hard to hear it over the boss!! I agree however, if it's too much it's just too much and nothing more than rest can fix it.....

It's a hurry up and wait thing now, thanks again/ 6 more days to go!
