lopsided belly! will it go away???

I'm 3- weeks post-op, TAH with a long bikini-cut. Anyone else have this? - my belly is lopsided! I'm a fairly small woman (120 pounds) and now after surgery when you look at my profile - on one side my belly is flat, on the other side there is a small roll of fat hanging over the incision. Can anything be done to get ride of this roll? Or will it just go away with time?
Help!!!! (no way can I wear a bikini like this!)

Re: lopsided belly! will it go away???

I'm in the same boat at a little over 2 weeks out, except I only dream about sill being 120lbs

My left side is more swollen than the right. I just hope it will go back down with time.

Re: lopsided belly! will it go away???

I'm in the same boat, but it is really my whole lower abdominal area that seems to be distended. I am 5' and 115 pounds. I think it is still just really inflammed inside and probably still swollen. I had substantial sized fibroids that made my belly distend before surgery, so I think the inflammation is what is keeping me puffy now. We're planning on going to the Carribean in February, so I hope this goes down. If not, screw it! I'll just be proud of what I've come through! To hell with what anyone else may think.

Hope your body gets back to where you want it to be soon and that you have a speedy recovery!

All the best to you!

Re: lopsided belly! will it go away???

I had davinci but I had c section apx 20 years ago. I had a laproscopic procedure a few years ago, and I had a lop sided belly a few days later, and it was a blood clot, so just be careful ladies. Wishing you the best recoveries!

Re: lopsided belly! will it go away???

Lisamona, it should fllatten out. I am at 9 weeks. I am a similar weight to you and pre-surgery had a nice flat stomach. My incision originally had an enormous roll above the whol of it and it was uneven as well. It is now pretty even and has gone down a lot. It stll looks ridiculous, and I hope it keeps improving. Interestingly, however, it doesn't look too bad in a bikini!
