Re: Does the Holiday season stress you out?

No matter what I try to have some "alone" time every day, to take a bath or read, anything I want that's just for me.

Re: Does the Holiday season stress you out?

We have a lot of holiday traditions that I feel are important to maintain. Any stress I feel are only stresses that I put on myself! What helps for me: making personalized homemade gifts, singing loudly along to Christmas carols while baking Christmas cookies, then relaxing in the couch and watching Christmas movies!

I hope everyone has had a lovely holiday!

Re: Does the Holiday season stress you out?

Yes. For my husband it's about gifts. For me it's faith & family traditions.

Re: Does the Holiday season stress you out?

Normally, Christmastime does stress me out, but this year I was much more relaxed. I think it is because I felt better than I have in years.
I like to cross-stitch and that is my way of relaxing. Before my hysterectomy I did not sew much because I did not feel like it, and maybe that is why I was more stressed than i was this year.

Does the Holiday season stress you out?

Not really. I try to pace myself so I'm not rushed last minute. With my surgery right before Christmas I was done way before the stress could hit.

Re: Does the Holiday season stress you out?

My biggest stress is my kids my son is 14 he knows we dont have money to really spend extra on Christmas or birthdays and stuff, so he asks for thing in the price ranges we can afford,, that he will be happy to get and love and be thankful for. Though I hate that he should have to feel that way though Im glad he does ya know. Now My stepson causes the biggest stress, he asks for the biggest and best things for his birthday and Christmas and he does know we cant afford them either. So he will ask for one cheapy thing he might use or play with and then everything else he gets he places in a pile at the end of his bed in all their boxes and wrapping bags noone can touch them, he doesnt wear the clothes, It sits there for the whole year unless I get honkerblonked and go clean it myself and donate everything. His dad said its cuz he is so spoiled at his moms house. Yes he is spoiled at his moms but he has been with us of and on every week or other week and summers since 2008 and he is 13 he is old enough to know better. He just like to be a brat. UGH it gets me stressed just thinking about it. How I destress, country music, only christmas tree light on, slow dancing with my hubby. Or sitting in the quiet with my hubby on the couch no talking kids sleeping just sitting there and no words have to be said.

Does the Holiday season stress you out?

I absolutely despise the holidays. Since my miscarriages I had about 6 years ago, I wish there was a way to fast forward right thru them. This year will be the worst. Dealing with the hyst and not being able to ever have my own kids has been rough. My sister just found out she's pregnant. Not the best timing. Plus my uncle passed away in May. I'm hoping the holidays go on strike this year. Nothing to celebrate.

Does the Holiday season stress you out?

Since I didn't know enough when we first got married, 22 years later, we are still driving up and down the valley to visit in laws at Christmas. I'm cranky about the driving around business but my inlaws are very nice.
