TAH did weak abs pre-op set me up for slow recovery now?

I've never forced myself to have great posture and have not been physically active most of my life, so I know my abs have always been flabby.

Add to that, pms cramps over the years and back problems. I often slept on my stomach, slouched in chairs, etc. Now as I sit at my office desk and notice belly pains increasing as the work day progresses, I also notice that I am not using my stomach muscles to maintain good posture while I am sitting. That habit would come in handy now, because when I force myself to hold my stomach in, I usually feel better.

Does anybody else notice whether their posture habits are helping or hurting their recovery?

I am thinking that I should be practicing some simple ab excercises now - nothing too strenuous of course (I am NOT pondering the ab-lounger in the basement, at least not for a few more weeks...) Please post if you know where to find the right exercises to help with recovery from abdominal surgery.
