Anyone else have subcutaneous stitches and no steri strips?

I keep hearing steri strips mentioned, but that's not what I had.

I had a huge bandage with honeycombed shaped holes taped on top of my incision with lots of tape. As per instruction, I removed it 6 days post op and am left with a very thin, long vertical incision line. I am keeping it uncovered, according to instruction. I shower normally, just try to be very gentle in the incision area.

I was told that my stitches are subcutaneous and will be absorbed by my body eventually. I don't have to do anything about them

I have these. I was just told to keep it dry and clean. Seems to be quite common here on the uk
