TVH w A&P repair 21 May - Hemorrhoids

On Wednesday I discovered 2 "HUGE" (large raisin/small grape hemorrhoids which I immediately pointed out to my nurse, who did nothing, just said the doctor has to see it. The doc saw them and prescribed LIDO 3%/HC 0.5% RECTAL CRM KIT. She discharged me that day along with a script for pain and sleep (The last decent sleep I've had was during surgery, which was the ONLY sleep I got in the hospital.)

Anyway, its now Saturday. Still no bowel movement since the procedure (I'm on stool softeners and Gas-X as well), no change in the roids, or maybe worse, my body knows when 4 hours is close becuase I hurt, I'm not sleeping more than 3 hours at a time and I'm going nuts! I know each day I'm a little better (less stomach pain and cramping), but it seems the bad things stay bad. Its now a long holiday weekend. From scouring the internet I now know to try ice on my poor tush but otherwise just have to deal with this until Tuesday and if I'm the same call for some help.

I don't get my week followup for 2 weeks (4 June) because doc went on vacation. I'm probably just venting. Can't sit here any longer. Any suggestions would be wonderful. No sympanthy tho, I got plenty of that myself and it doesn't help.

I'll try not to offer sympathy, but it's hard. I am sorry you're in such pain. I did a search and found some threads where hemorrhoids have been discussed. I hope there is some info here that will help.

I picked 3 here, but if you do a search on hemorrhoids there are a lot of threads where the subject has been discussed and you might find some more suggestions. I hope you will feel better soon.

Hi all--
I had some nasty hemorrhoids when I came home from the hospital and mentioned it to my doc a week later when he removed my staples.

"They'll go away," he said, trying to sound reassuring and sympathetic.

"Well, I know they'll go away, but how about some Proctofoam so they go away soon?" I asked.

"Oh, sure!" he said, grabbing his script pad. It's like he'd never thought of giving a patient anything to relieve hemorrhoids.

Gotta ask, friends!
