Pain management

I was off all the narcotic pain meds on day 3. I was not comfortable but my head felt a little clearer. They have so many side effects that scare me.

Pain management

I had a problem getting stronger meds when, a week after my surgery, I was still having problems sleeping due to pain. I had the lowest level they make of percocet and just wanted something stronger for nights. I got a big run around by my Dr's partner since she was out of town last week. He said I should be on only Tylenol or Motrin by 7 days out.

I hate that addicts have made it so hard for us post op ppl to get pain management. Some of us don't just bounce back like that after having major surgery and organs removed!

Pain management

Hi I had the same surgery 12/29 and came home with 20 pills. The first 10 days are the hardest. I have called for two refills and got them. Week 2 I started the motrin and now take 1 pain pill per day...and use motrin in between.

It does get better with rest..but remember if you can't do it... you just can't do....ask for the refill...worse case call your family DR.

Pain management

I have had four babies. One with no medicine and it like to of killed me. The next three I had medicine. This surgery hurt more than all of them put together. They were all vaginal also. This incision is more horrible than I ever imagined. I hope that it is all worth it in a few months and this pain will be just a distant memory. I just had no idea that they would gibe me 20 pills for a major organ removal. I would not of done it. I thought for sure I would get decent pain meds. I think that people who have the laproscopic are back to normal sooner than others...I don't know. But, for me. It hurts to walk and I think it makes my blood pressure go up. I am going to buy a blood pressure machine. Thank you all for your concern.

Pain management

It really does get a bit better each day. It is not just a saying. It was harder than I thought too but it did get better. Best wishes that you feel better soon!
