Tomorrow is the big day!
What should I bring for my overnight stay? I am planning on taking my phone, charger, nook, nook charger, clean under things and socks. I will be wearing my pj's to the hospital as its just easier and comfier for me. Will I need anything else?

Re: Tomorrow is the big day!
If it helps you a little bit- I'm having my surgery Thursday- I too will be over night and I have a neat little list that might interest you:
Nightgown- Slippers- Shampoo- Sweat Pants and light Blouse (For going home in) Slip On shoes (also for going home in) and my cellular phone.
Might be a light list to some- but it helps to be prepared and anything that is light weight and easy to slip into- will be better options and for reasoning that things with belts like jeans or certain types of skirts and tops can cause a bit of discomfort when leaving- same with shoes that tie- bending over will be a royal task as it were.
I hope this helps.

Re: Tomorrow is the big day!
Thanks this does help! I was considering bringing my own night gown. I have my easy on pj's to come and go home in, and I do have slip on shoes, guess I will need to just add slippers to my list.

Re: Tomorrow is the big day!
You may use your slippers and you may not. I wore the slipper socks that the gave me. I also wore the confy little mesh panties that they gave me too. The hospital gown was fine for me, just used another one turned around for a robe. Didn't use mosy of the stuff that I took.
I did use my toiletries, especially lotion; travel sized. Phone, charger, nook id good. I wore the same sweats and slip on shoes home that I wore there.
You may want to take chapstick, because your lips get a little dry. Also when you are discharged, have whoever pick you up to bring a pillow for you to put between you and the seatbelt on the way home. It's a bumpy ride and you'll feel every bump
I pray that you a have a successful surgery and an even more successful recovery.
Lots of ((HUGS)) to you

Re: Tomorrow is the big day!
You're welcome Hun. I don't quite like those panty things they have for folks so my plan is to also take my little pack of Disposable under-garments. They're light weight- non constrictive and best yet- they absorb like crazy. I've been using them for heavier flows as it is so I can honestly say that I've gotten used to wearing them. Rather comfortable and better than panties and another positive too is- I don't have to worry about stains or washing them. Just take them off- roll them up and throw them away hehehehe. I love having my own amenities hehehehe.

Re: Tomorrow is the big day!
I almost forgot- It might also be helpful to have a small throw pillow or soft cushion to sit on in the car on your way home. My husband brought home an adjustable air cushion that had been tossed into the "Toss Out Pile" some time back. he put it at my commendered end of our sofa so that I would have a cushy place to sit after I had my surgery in August and when we went to Michigan at the beginning of this month- he put it on the front seat of the rental car we rode in. I plan to have him put it on the front seat of our mini-van when he comes to pick me up from the hospital on Friday. I will also be glad to be riding in the van- it's a small step up and then sit down and far better than crouching to sit in our car. So in light- It's good to have an extra cushion in the car and a little better altitude when getting in and out of the car too. Just small suggestions hehehe.
