Post Hysterectomy Migraine Cure!

It's been over a week since my TLH, and for the last 5 or 6 days I've been suffering from the worst kind of migraines. Before my hysterectomy, I had bad headaches now and then, but these migraines are on a whole other level: extreme sensitivity to light, constant pounding and throbbing in my temples, the inability to hold a conversation (or focus on anything really). I was so miserable that I just lay curled up in bed with the covers over my head.

The worst part is that these migraines refused to go away. The intensity would subside during my 'better days' but I could still feel a pulsing in the recesses of consciousness, deviously waiting to roar back to life at a moments notice. When I asked my urogyn about it, she said I probably got seasonal allergies after arriving in Thailand (where I flew to have my hysterectomy).

Now given that I've been here for almost a month, and was fine before the surgery, I asked her if it wasn't more probable that my headaches were caused by hormonal fluctuations (I kept both ovaries, but was taking TWO BC pills a day to keep my continuous heavy bleeding at bay). She agreed that my ovaries could be going through estrogen withdrawal, and have gotten lazy (since the BC pills do everything for them).

Anyway, my sister did some research, and it apparently says on Mayo Clinic's website that caffeine can really help people with migraines. I always thought caffeine made things worse, but after trying other treatments to being the migraine under control, I figured anything was worth a try.

So I had some chocolate, and it works!! Just putting this up for any sisters who are suffering from migraines like I am.
