New HERE - 3 weeks post hysterectomy

Hello everyone, new member here. I'm 3 weeks post op today. I had a partial hysterectomy(took out uterus only) been doing well except for my incision on the right side hasn't fully healed yet, getting really nervous about that. I get exhausted after I walk. Hoping all is well.

Re: New HERE

Welcome!

Keep an eye on the incision and take it easy. Your body will tell you when you've had enough.

Re: New HERE - 3 weeks post hysterectomy

Thanks, I've pretty much been taking it easy since I left the hospital. I've called my gynecologist and asked for an antibiotic just to be safe. 😀

Re: New HERE - 3 weeks post hysterectomy

I am also 3 weeks post op LAVH RSO. It is very reassuring to me that others are feeling exhausted. I was going to try to go back to work on 2-23-15 but now have realized I am not even close to being ready to tackle my very active position as a nurse in a busy clinic. This site has been very helpful! Thanks!!

Re: New HERE - 3 weeks post hysterectomy

Im 3 weeks post op from LAVH as well. Ive come to realize that exhaustion is part of the healing process. As far as the incisions go the healing takes time. At my 2 week check up I asked the doc if I could put Neosporin on the incision sites. She approved. I can tell you that my incisions have healed more in the last week than the first two. It is also helping with the itching. Hope this helps. Take care.
