Have any of you gals changed your vitamins? I changed to regular One a day to One a day for women 50+. I did that because as far as my body goes I am a "older women" on the inside. Since I have been put in menopause due to my TAH BSO and menepause effects our memory, vision, and bones I thought they would help. what do you think?

Vitamins

Our bodies' needs are always changing, especially after a major, life changing surgery.

I didn't take anything........including vitamins......prior to my surgery. Since then, I have found enormous benefit in nutritional supplementation. Because there is so much available to us, it is always wise to choose our supplements under the direction of a physician. Getting too much of a good thing can cause more harm than not taking anything at all........especially when taking vitamins A, D, E and K......as I have found.

Take care..............s......Deb

I'm a big fan of vitamins and supplements. I was taking them before the surgery and started back on them ever since I got back from the hospital. I take a multi vitamin, vitamins E and C, flax oil, Omega 3 of marine source for inflammation, iron. Also took arnica montana for first 2 weeks post surgery. For a month before the surgery till 2 weeks after, took a drink mixure that included greens, aloe vera and whey protein. I am having a wonderful recovery, no complications, my appetite is great (I eat well too)...so I have only good words for vitamins!

I actually never took vitamins before my surgery. I am trying desperately to remember to take them daily now. I purchased vitamins for menopausal women.

Prior to my TAH/BSO, I was taking one a day plus iron. With heavy, nearly constant bleeding, I really needed that extra iron. Now, I'm switching to one-a-day for 50+ women (even though I am only 46). It's more of who I am.

I'm using up all of my one a days with iron first but I use them on alternate days. I have a physical coming up and I will be really interested in how my iron is now that I'm not having those heavy periods anymore.
