Upcoming hysterectomy: midline due to size of uterus and frozen pelvis

Hello all,
First post hope to get reassurance from you lovely girls. Scheduled TAH on 14 th March. Told today I need midline due to size of uterus and frozen pelvis. I'm a "fluffy" and feel particularly fluffed up at the moment. Think I'll ask my surgeon to "take me in a bit" when he does procedure. Any words of comfort will be greatly appreciated. xxx

Re: Upcoming hysterectomy: midline due to size of uterus and frozen pelvis

I had a TAH with a vertical incision myself for other reasons (endometrial cancer). I woke up with a 7" incision closed with 38 staples. Frankenbelly! But my recovery was really easy - minimal pain, no complications. I had a pleasant 3-day hospital stay and after that had no problems taking care of myself at home.

I went back to work at a part-time desk job at four weeks. By eight weeks, my body felt back to normal except for some minor abdominal swelling in the evenings. That lasted another month.
