1 week post op

today marks one week since my surgery and I am very swollen and bloated. I have had two BM's with no discomfort but I still have lots of gas pains and sharp pains shooting out of my vagina. I have also gained 5 pounds over this week and I have not eaten much but chicken noodle soup and green beans. I don't want to gain anymore so I don't want to eat. could this weight gain be from the bloating. I looked in a full length mirror today for the first time since my surgery and I look 3 months pregnant. I am very uncomfortable as it hurts to walk so i'm just laying in the bed most of the day. I cant stop crying

It's normal:-)
the bloating and swelling from
1. Air with a laparoscopic surgery
2. Tissue swelling
3. You just had surgery!!

The crying from:
1. All of the above AND...
2. Crazy hormones
3. This is a life-changer!
4. Crazy hormones...
5. Pain and being stuck inside make us
weepy
6. See #4...and #2...again.

The weight gain from the surgery will get better after your body regulates and you aren't retaining as much water...
