Sore after riding bike: compression garment question

I've been riding my recumbent bike and noticed that I am sore after the ride. Not the good sore of working out but the sore of "Crap I had surgery didn't I?" I use Moderate to Vigorous speed for 20 minutes. I've avoided Ab exercises because the doctor hasn't given me permission yet. Leg and arm/chest/shoulder isolation exercise doesn't create the problem.

I am assuming it is because for the time I had the cancer [I'm figuring 4 years before it decided to bleed], I put on a heck of a lot of weight on simply because I was exhausted. My lupus didn't like the cancer and went after it. I also thinking that's why I didn't bleed until I was almost 4 cm in depth. And we won't talk about the stomach swelling I had before the surgery. After? I don't even count that as swelling. I looked like a pregnant barrel drum before surgery. Again, the Lupus going after the cancer.

I still have a stomach. Not nearly as large and now the shape is back to... well... normal instead of being taunt. I think that remaining pouch is part of the problem. Since I have to use a recumbent bike, the legs move the stomach. [Back issues and a chronic torn Achilles from my former job] It is going to take a while for the pouch to go away completely as I lose weight. I'm doing well with 17 pounds lost since May 31 but it's going to be a while before it is gone.

My question is have any of you tried a sports compression garment for exercise after surgery and did it work? I was thinking only for getting on the bike to support the stomach away from the legs so they don't bounce and irritate the surgery sites. What I am thinking about is a man's version because my proportions are more male and men's clothing is more comfortable for me. I tried to wear my mother's pants one time when we were the same size and they were hip huggers on me and the legs dragged on the ground by a good 3 inches even tho I'm 6 inches taller than she is.
