Vaginal spotting after 5 months s/p TAH

Have had backache for 3 days. Had BM and with straining had some vaginal pinkish d/c on toilet paper. Yes, it was vaginal because there was a slight d/c on pad later. I'm freaking out here. What could this be? There's nothing in there. My pap s/p 6 week was normal. I'm scared....Help...

I know it can be scary to find vaginally bleeding of any kind following a hysterectomy! But don't panic! There are many, many reasons for it, lots of them no big deal issues!

Did you have a complete hysterectomy--removal of the entire uterus? If so, even this far out from surgery you could have some granulation issues with the cuff. If you had a partial hysterectomy--meaning you have your cervix--you could have a bit of endometrium that is shedding.

Hormonal imbalance can cause some bleeding issues. Did you keep your ovaries? Are you on HRT?

Have you been experiencing some vaginal dryness issues? Has anything with intercourse changed? Those can lead to some spotting.

I agree with (((chanel))) that you should contact your doctor. Try not to worry unless your doctor tells you that you should!
