First day back at work ... sort of

Okay, so I went back to work today .. at least I was physically there, can't say I got much accomplished. Anyhow, I made it from 7:30 to 2:00 and decided to call it a day, I mean, why overdo it on the first go right?

I can't say I wasn't warned enough.. still I figured, 'Hey, it's a desk job and I have my own office .. how hard can it be?' But right now my tummy isn't too happy with me .. maybe I should have practised sitting up more while I was off? My bowels also seem a bit distressed at the change in routine, can't say as I blame them.

Oh well, I've made the commitment to be there so I guess I'll tough it out. I really just want to make sure I get things lined up for a good start to the New Year so I'm going to try to coast for a bit and hope nothing serious comes up.

Thanks all for the support and advice, I think I'll call it an early night.

First day back at work ... sort of

Hi knit1purl2! I went back last Tuesday. All last week was very exhausting. Like you, I have a desk job, so I didn't think it would be a big deal. I had the worst swelly belly I've had so far last Wednesday when I got home. On Thursday I learned the trick of putting a pillow in one of my desk drawers, and using it like an ottoman to prop my feet up. A few times I even leaned back in my chair and took a bit of a nap. Each day last week I came home and went straight to bed. Today was much better. I think I actually got some work done today, too!

Hang in there - it gets better. Don't let them talk you into overdoing it!

Hiya Knit1purl2,

Look at that, we both had our surgeries the same day and went back to work the same day! True hyster "sisters", eh? It went well for me, and like you I have a desk job. Now I'm experiencing the swelly belly thing.

I'm very tired right now and so going to bed early.

Have a great night!

First day back at work ... sort of

Hi sisters!
Back to work, day 2 ..
I slept in (I think my cat figured out how to turn off the alarm clock because I definitely remember setting it! .. In her defense though, I usually wake up before the alarm, but I had trouble going back to sleep when I woke up at 3:00 this morning and have been known to let my subconscious turn it off when that sort of thing happens.) Luckily, dh got up and noticed I was still there.
Anyhow, I found I ached in the most unexpected ways after work yesterday and I may cut back to half days for this week. My sides hurt the most, wish I could say it was from laughing but I guess it was just from sitting up straight.

More early nights ahead this week for all of us I'm sure.
