colposcopy

I had a coloposcopy today and it hurt more than I expected. She took three different areas last two was the ones that hurt the most. I have a lot of cramping no bleeding sharp pains once in awhile. My question is I forgot to ask her was about when I can bath and have sex? Is there anyone out there that could help me? Also I have mild dysplasia haven't had a abnormal pap since I was 17 so this has me a little concerned. Having lavh with cervix romoval in a couple of weeks but just the thought of it being more serious is nerve racking.

Re: colposcopy

Bathing after a colposcopy/biopsy is not a problem. My gyn has always told me no sex, douching or tampons until my follow up visit which is typically 2-4 weeks after the procedure.

I hope your pathology report comes back with no huge concerns so you can move forward with your LAVH. Good luck!

Re: colposcopy

I was surprised that I didn't have any spotting after but the cramps were unbearable for a couple of days. My doctor told me I could resume whatever after it was no biggie. My results were that I do have mild dysplasia so no need to dwell it is all coming out in 10 days anyway.
