Is this Normal?

Today marks 21 days since my surgury. I had a tah with ovaries removed. I had a little spotting the first few days, the bleeding for one day. It was red but not extremely heavy. I call my doctor and he said it is normal but if it got heavier to come in. It slowed down to a yellow/pink when I wiped but nothing in the pantyliner. That type of yellow/pink discharged lasted until 14 day after my surgury. Now I am getting a yellowish/pink to pinkish/red when I wipe. There is hardly anything in the pantyliner, enough that you want to wear a liner just in case. It seems to be more a night. Around the 6-7 o'clock mark. Should I call the doctor or am I just feaking myself out for nothing. I've read lots of post but just need some reassurance. Don't want to had to drive to the doctor and feel like an idiot if he says it normal.
Thanks for the for of wisdom.

Is this Normal?

Hi Joy5, I had some spotting in the 3-4 week recovery time. I did call my doctor just to be sure. I was told it was probably my sutures dissolving. If it became bright red, or had a foul smell to it, I was to let them know right away. Mine was also worse late in the day, because I was starting to be up and around a bit more at this point. Probably you are too.
I'd give the doctor a call, just to be safe. In the meantime, try resting a little bit more, with your feet up during the day. Once I did this again, mine stopped completely.
Take care!

Is this Normal?

Hi joy5;

This could be a couple of different things really. Between 2-4 weeks (sometimes longer) the internal stitches start disolving.

Sometimes this causes spotting and you may even see some stitches on the paper when you wipe or in the toilet.

Since you mention it starts around 7 at night I am also wondering if you are over doing it.

You are still in early recovery and you need to take it easy and heal! Even though you might look and feel better on the outside, you still have a lot of healing to do inside! Sometimes up to one year to heal!

The general "rule" is, if you soak a pad in an hours time, you need to be seen by a doctor!

Some spotting is "normal" but to always have peace of mind, call your doctor! He's there for you!

Take care and get some rest!

Is this Normal?

That's for your advise. By the end of the day, with my kids getting home from school I do tend to be walking a bit more, then there is supper and dishes. Guess maybe that little extra work might be just enough to start the spotting. Called doctor he said rest more. I'm not doing anything now but I leave the dishes for DH tonight. That might make all the difference evan tgough a sit when I do them. Thanks again.
