TAH 5 weeks post hysterectomy - having discomfort

iI'm right at the 5 week mark in my recovery and my belly is still uncomfortably swollen and I have some pain on the inside. It's not real painful just pretty uncomfortable. It is kind of making me nervous because I'm supposed to go back to work after 6 weeks. I'm afraid that I won't be ready.

I was like that at 5 weeks. However I didn't go back till 8 weeks. At my 6 weeks appt, it wasn't too bad. If you feel,that you can't go back yet, talk your doc. Otherwise take it slow when going back to work.

I'm 5 weeks too and feeling the same way, swelly belly and pain. My job is letting me borrow 2 weeks of advanced sick and I'm thinking of asking for an extra week. My job requires my for me to be on my feet and will be full days and possible overtime. Hate to take more time but like you think I may need too. Talk to your doc and boss, most seem to be more then understanding. We have had major surgery and we need to heal

Thanks, sisters. I hope I'm feeling better at my 6 week post op, but if I'm not, I'm definitely going to tell my doctor because my job requires a lot of standing, heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and stretching.
