TAH depression or menopause?

Quick question.
I suffered with anxiety before surgery, (panic attacks, social phobia etc) but have been working on it for a year now, and had a few meds before surgery to get anxiety under control. I didnt expect it to disappear at all, but now Im having really bad attacks. My question is, How do you know its the before surgery problems which have got worse as I havent had time to see my therapist, or is this symptoms of menapause. Gyn said I was perimenapausal. Now doc and Therapist are working out which anti depressant to put me on.. Im so confused. Anyone else having this?
