6 Week Checkup - Not healed?

I just got back from my 6 week checkup. I have had bleeding/discharge from day 1. He said my stitches were not healed yet, I still had some. That's why I was still having discharge. He said I had to come back in 2 weeks. Has anyone else had this??? I am so discouraged!

Yes I did. I had complications and actual had discharge for 3 months.

Hopefully your stitches will be all healed for your next appointment!

Keeping taking care of yourself, drinking plenty of water, walk, and get lots of rest! s

Thanks Weiser. Did you have to do the silver nitrate, or did you just have to wait for your stitches to heal internally by themselves?

6 Week Checkup - Not healed?

It's discouraging but things will get better. Just hang in there. I think that 6 to 8 weeks is just an approximation about healing time. Everyone heals at her own pace.

6 Week Checkup - Not healed?

Hi Phylygl!

I was able to avoid the silver nitrate but many ladies have found that it was helpful. Mine was not a granulation issue but I just took a lot longer to heal than I should have, partially due to the complications. in there! s

6 Week Checkup - Not healed?

Phlygrl, I had bleeding/discharge for 8 1/2 weeks. Dr said some just take longer to heal. No silver nitrate was used. I was going nuts and tired of wearing pads.

It is discouraging but you will feel so good when you are finally healed!

I agree - hang it there - it's so worth the wait!

I also was told two more weeks of healing at my 6 week and just went back for the 8 week and was given the all clear. My bleeding/discharge stopped at around 71/2 weeks. Hang in there...
