May 5, 2009 Hyst - advice

I am scheduled for my hysterectomy on Tuesday, May 5. is there anyone out there who has any good advice as far as recovery, etc?

It's a HUGE list of all sorts of tips and tricks. I spent hours flipping through those pages and got a huge amount of really useful information right there.
Doesn't make much sense to list is all again here. Take a look - just super stuff in there.

Here is My suggestion list.

FOLLOW DR ORDERS!!!!
Take it easy,
Get some soft pillows for your belly,
Get a belly band and flexible ice pack,
Get your recovery area set up,
Watch lots of movies,
Gas X is a God Send,
Stool Softeners are too (ask Doc first)
Have your favorite book handy,
Don't forget to get up and move as you can,
Don't forget to smile.

Zev is right that the Hints from Members is helpful. The other place to go is our Pre-op Resources page. I got a lot of information and ideas from these two places and spent a lot of time on the Pre-op forum to find out how other women were feeling.
