Vaginal Cuff Tear 4 weeks post hysterectomy

I had a vaginal cuff tear 4 weeks post op and had emergency surgery due to hemorrhage. Instead of doc fixing just the 1-2 stitches that came lose, she cut me open again. I went to a new doc for a second opinion. No sex for 3 months and he said I am at risk for tearing again down the road "just because." I am 37 and regret having the surgery. Has anyone else had this issue. I had no pain with the tear, which is what scares me. I was not TOO ACTIVE, as first doctor blamed me for everything and said my tissue was like "stitching jello together." I am feeling lost and hopeless. Will I ever heal? How long will it take? Will I ever be able to have sex with my husband again?

I had a large hematoma near my rectum that put pressure on the cuff. First doc MISSED the hematoma and told me all my bleeding was normal. I wish I had trusted my gut and gone to the ER when I started bleeding 10 days post op.

Has anyone healed from a vaginal cuff repair? Is there life after this? I am normally very active (running, squats, lunges, push ups, etc) and am afraid I will never be able to be myself again. This post is all over the place, but so are my emotions. HELP!

I had a Vaginal Hysterectomy and kept my ovaries on August 18th, 2015.

Re: Vaginal Cuff Tear 4 weeks post hysterectomy

I'm so sorry that happened to you! It is a traumatizing event that happen to you and will take time to emotionally and physically deal with it. I didn't have a vaginal cuff tear, but I did read (on this board) about other women that had this happen to them. Maybe if you do a search for vaginal cuff tear you can find the posts from the other ladies that experienced this. Hopefully, they will be able to help you with information.

When you do a search also search for vaginal dehiscence (means vaginal cuff tear).

I will be thinking about you/praying for you/ sending you good thoughts! Just remember that you can get through this. That you are strong!
