5 weeks 5 days post hysterectomy - can I exercise and resume intimacy?

Hey ladies

I'm near 7 weeks post op, returning to work tomorrow.

I had a TAH vertical cut. My 6 week checks now been pushed for another 6 1/2 weeks any advice would be greatful as post op so far way.

Scare healing well, no other issues either.

Can I start low impact exercise

What weigh max should i carry... shopping... picking up babies etc

Can I have sex with my husband.

Please help if you can any advise on issues above or any you think might be helpful

My doctor recommended waiting at least 12 weeks before anything enters the vagina. Other people's doctors provide a shorter time frame. You should definitely check with your doctor to see what your personal recommendations are.

All that needs to be cleared by your doctor. Some Sisters get examined by their doctors at 6 or 8 weeks only to find out that they're not as far along in healing as they'd hoped - even though they've had no setbacks - and their doctors extend restrictions for 2 more weeks or so.

Those are good post-op appointment questions though, so write them down to take to your doctor. If you're not sure what else to ask, here's an extensive list of Questions for Your Post-op Hysterectomy Appointment. Not all of these may apply to you, but they also might make you think of something else.

Please follow your doctor's orders until he personally changes them. You've got one chance to heal properly, and you don't know where you are in the process without your doctor's okay.

I would wait for the sex until cleared from doctor. As far as excercise I was told I could walk on a treadmill with No incline at 2 weeks but anything involving my Abs cant be done until 6 weeks.
