Surgery is Scheduled

Hi Ladies,

I just heard from my GYN. this morning. My surgery has been scheduled for January 30th.

Whew.....boy am I having a range of emotions right now.

I'm scared out of my wits.

As I sit here in my office, my mind is going in a million different directions.....This is CRAZY. Why all of these mixed emotions?

I even feel nauseated. Am I losing my mind or what?

Hi Terry,

No, you aren't losing your mind. In fact, your reaction is pretty normal. Somehow, that magic date makes it all seem oh so real, and can bring on an amazing attack of nervous manifestations!

Take a deep breath and relax. Try to remember that the waiting is the hardest part. Once you get past that, you'll be on the "better" side looking back.

We're here for you whenever you need us.

s,

Lisa

Hi Terry, my tah/bso was last July and boy do I remember that emotional roller coaster! You are normal - most of us are nervous before this surgery. Soon you'll be a princess, ready for royal pampering. Best wishes - s

Congrats on your date. I don't think you're going crazy, I was the same way. Back and Forth the whole decision process through. You have every right to be scared. I took things one day at a time and tried really hard to focus on all the positives that I could. I saved all the positive posts I read and re-read them often.

Thanks

Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement.

Ya know....the thing that freaks me out the most is not knowing going into surgery if I'm going to have a LAVH or a TAH. There is just something about not knowing. My doctor says he can't tell that until we're in the operating room. I've had 2 C-Sections and an appendectomy and at the end of October....had Laproscopic Surgery for extensive adheseions.....His exact words to me yesterday were.....don't be surprised if you wake up in recovery with a bikini line incision.

I am so thankful that I found this site. It is so comforting to come here and voice your concerns, fears, worries.....etc.

Thanks Guys!
