Vag Hysterectomy scheduled

My name is Robyn and I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy on December 3, the day after my 30th birthday. I started having pain and issues this past June. In July I had a cyst removed, an adhesion and some endo removed, as well as a tubal ligation and ablation. I felt great for a few weeks and then the pain returned. My first GYN did not want to do anything for me and said the pain would go away after ovulation. I returned to the OB who delivered my boys and she put me on Lupron. I have now received two injections and the pain has only gotten worse. Today I went in and we decided that a hysterectomy is the next step due to the pain I am in. The doctor said she will try to keep the ovaries but only if they are in good shape, if not they are coming out too. I am ok with that as they seem to be what is giving me the most fits. I am so glad I have found a board with women who are going through or have gone through this before. It will help educate me while I wait for my upcoming surgery.

We have the same surgery date. I'm also 30, scheduled for a LAVH. I'm trying to keep my ovaries too. The Dr. believes he can remove a cyst in the left ovary, the right one is healthy though. I'm so nervous and Dec. seems like such a long wait but I know it will be here before I know it. This board has been really great.

Best wishes, Redbird and Rovincent, on your upcoming surgeries. I had an emergency TVH last year (bleeding complications due to Coumadin) and things are great now. I kept my ovaries, too, as both were healthy.

Even though you will have no abdominal incisions, Rov, remember to take it easy during your recovery, as you will be healing internally for many weeks post op.
