You should not be doing anything till your first post-op appoinment. You really need to REST, REST and more REST. You can only have one chance to heal right so please don't do anything. You may feel good but that is when we tend to over due it. I am certain the other ladies will agree with me on doing nothing. Please take care.

Do not vacuum whatever you do. Do not lift anything even remotely heavy. Even a 10 lb cat is to heavy. I would say don't lift anything over 2 lbs, the first few weeks. You must protect your stomach at all costs, no lifting, no jerking, no pulling. Your stomach muscles have been through major trauma and must have time to heal and rest. Rest, is the greatest gift you can give your health at this time. I can be hurting so bad, go to sleep for a few hours and the pain will be gone.Eat lots of fibrous foods, drink lots of water, and rest! take care- Cath

Hi tdpan and welcome to Post-Op

Here's the link to our Checkpoints covering the stages of recovery:

https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/mycheckpoint.php

I used these all the time because I got no guidance from my doctor either. Your family will also find the info useful to keep you on track . The basic rules here are : lots of water, get lots of , as you're able. You only have one chance to heal right so be a good

Keep in touch and share your stories with us.... s....Wendy
