7 days post hysterectomy: Abdominal pain
I'm 7 days post op tomorrow from a dAVinci procedure. I feel pretty good mostly. No more soreness in my muscles. I take a nap in the morning after my daughter leaves for school. Really, my only problem is my lower abdominal pain. I'm taking ibuprofen every 6 hours but it doesn't really help. I don't think it's gas pain as a stool softener has resolved any gas issues. Does anyone else have what seems like random pain? I realize I had surgery. My mom reminded me that surgery is traumatic. But..

Re: Abdominal post op pain
Pain is normal at your stage. Keep up with your meds. You may have up amt to stay ahead of the pain. Check with your doc on the amt if you are. It sure on now much tolerate.. If you feel that it is worse than before, then I would go see the doc. I had pain for months and I was on narcs every 4 hours with Advil in between....

Re: Abdominal post op pain
Yes, I agree with Cinl11, you are very early into your recovery so pain is totally normal. I had to take pain medication for 2 weeks and you are only a week into healing. A hysterectomy is a major surgical procedure and it's going to take nothing but time to get better.
Gentle ((hugs))
