couple of drinks night before surgery?

Alcohol is also an immunosuppressant.... I would certainly not drink the night of my surgery.......I agree with all of the above - especially the anesthesia concerns.
Perhaps a celebration at 6 weeks post-op??

I asked my doctor about that same thing. She said no. No alcohol the night before even if it was before midnight. She didnt give reasons but alcohol thins your blood too so that may have something to do with it. Make sure you ask before you do anything you're not sure of because they can cancel your surgery. I think waiting until after your off the pain meds would be a good idea too. Then you can celebrate making it through and no longer having a period.

my surgery date is the same as yours. I am planning on heading out to eat that weekend before. (that way, whatever I eat is already gone by the time I have to do the enema.) ewwwwwww..........

Alcohol can adversely effect the anesthesia. None 24 hours before.

well thank you all for your help, my pre-op isnt until march 20th and that was one of the questions i had for him, but i'm pretty sure it will be the same as all of yours ... thank you all so much .. this website have been such a blessing

I didn't have any instructions for alcohol the day before surgery so I ate lightly the day before and had a couple of glasses of wine (it was SuperBowl Sunday) and my surgery went fine. Asking your doctor would be best.
