2 weeks post-op hysterectomy ...overdid it

I am two weeks post-op. Diagnosed with cervical cancer..surgeon removed everything, but was able to leave.left ovary. I went to grocery store wed to pick up a couplenof items. Got home and felt like i had run a marathon. Ended up taking pain pills again thurs and friday. Pain and now some spotting...i have had absolutley no spotting post-op. Lesson learned...take it easy! So frustrating when used to being very active. I also experienced what i can only think were hotflashes yesterday and was very emotional. Thank goodness for supportive hubby!

It is wicked how you can throw yourself into a backslide so easy. Just when your feeling like "hey! I got this" your back in bed. I have yet to adventure out besides a walk or two around the block. Let's hope we can rebound, rally and be up and out in no time!!

Re: 2 weeks post-op hysterectomy ...overdid it

I did the same thing yesterday and now I regret it. I NEEDED a different color yarn...so I had to move some things that were in front of my yarn "stash". I figured I could slide everything over and that wasn't technically "lifting" anything. (I'm not sure why I didn't think of moving those things BEFORE my surgery...knowing that I would want access to my yarn stash at any given moment!) Then I was forced to carry a (small) laundry basket up from my cellar when an unreliable teenager "forgot??" to come back after I paid her! Last night I felt "strange" in my belly...no pain whatsoever...just a weird feeling. It really scared me! The phrase "You only get one chance to heal right" kept going through my head! I could have kicked myself...but I figured that would have really pulled something out of whack in there. That feeling is gone today...but I am tired. So.....lesson learned!!! NO more pulling, sliding, pushing OR lifting ANYTHING heavier than a gallon of milk...and not even THAT for the today and tomorrow. It's so frustrating for a person who is usually going non-stop all day with 10 different projects going at the same time. It's a good thing my yard is covered with snow ....or I would be out there pushing the limits in my gardens! (Digging in the dirt isn't lifting...is it??? Just kidding!!!)

Spotting at two weeks is normal I thought because of the stitches dissolving? Hopefully that is all it is. Heal well ❤️

Yes, I now realize the spotting is normal. It freaked me out as i have not had any spotting whatsoever for first two weeks. I was afraid that I had torn something open internally.

Yes, that would be scary if you had not been spotting before! I spotted the entire time I was healing so I got used to it! Glad you are doing well.

Glad that your yard is covered with the white stuff (as is mine)...gardening and yardwork is absolutely not for us right now! Glad it is not there to temp you.
