Post op dr visit was super so why am I not happy?

Well I just returned home from my 4 week post op dr appt. The doctor has released me from all restrictions and has told me to resume life......So why am I not feeling relieved? Probably because the doctor did nothing but look at my incision and press my stomach a few times.when I told her that I seemed to be having hot flashes and insomnia she replied that she didnt know why that would be because my one remaining ovary was fine. She suggested that perhaps I was in pre-menapausal stage. When she told me I could resume all activities I asked her if that meant I could start back running...she said i probably needed to walk for a while! There was no mention of looking internally at my stitches so I asked her so when should I be back, she told me she would not need to see me again until a year. not quite what I expected but I guess i will continue listening to my body and trying not to overdo things as I still do not feel healed.

Re: Post op dr visit was super so why am I not happy?

Hi peacewithin48 I also had my post op Dr appt yesterday and he released me from all my previous restriction and told me and my "husband" to resume life including sex and work. I trust my Dr but I really don't think I am ready for work or sex so I asked him if he could give a couple more weeks to heal better before returning to my physical job. He only also looked at my external incision in my abdomen did not even touch me. I am also having some hot flushes even though i kept my 2 ovaries, he said that my body is getting used to the changes. I do need to follow up within him within 6 month and told if I have any discomfort with any activity to call him if I needed more time off.
I would definitely keep listening to my body and take it slow, I will not be running for now only walking and no sex for at least 2 more weeks. sorry hubby... I am supper scare to tear anything inside.
Good luck with everything we will be fine just keep taking one day at the time.
Big Hug...
