Pre op instructions

I had a pre-op appt with my surgeon last Monday (was due to have a TAH with vertical incision 10/20, but postponed due to a bad chest cold -- have rescheduled for 11/21) -- I was instructed to have 1.5 oz of Fleet on Wednesday morning, and no restrictions on food. Then Thursday morning, more Fleet, and only clear fluids. Nothing, not even water, eight hours before surgery. Hope this helps.

Pre op instructions

I have actually had 3 pre op appointments. One with the Urologist doing the bladder suspension, one with the OB/GYN performing the hyster and one with the hospital. QUITE a busy two days for me. My OB/GYN told me that I needed to do bowel prep because they are doing a (hopefully) lap and he will be going in somewhat blind. I drink the bottle of "stuff" tonight, and then do an enima in the morning before I head to the hospital.

I had my pre-op on Oct 16. I have to have only clear liquids tomorrow (day before surgery) and at 3:00 PM drink a 10 oz. bottle of Lemon Flavor Citroma (citrate of magnesia). The label goes on to say "The Sparkling Laxative". I got a kick out of that. One of the side effects that it lists is diarrhea. DUH.

My friend told me it's best to just chug the thing and have a glass of water handy. She had to take the same thing a few months ago so I think I will heed her advice.
