Hysterectomy (LAVH) and vaginal bowel repair?

Hi has anyone had a lavh hysterectomy and vaginal bowel repair? I'm wondering if the feeling of having a tampon inside my vagina is normal? Worried it isn't right to feel there is something pushing against my vaginal wall, even though I know a lot of stitches are in there. It's 25 days since my op? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks X

If you mean a rectocele then yes its common to have a lot of swelling still. I had that same feeling till a good 6 weeks. It should pass :-)

Well I did, until my uterus fell over 3 weeks later lol. Just had a lavh so shouldn't have any more problems. Rest up and you'll be back to normal before you know it.

I'm 6 weeks po today LAVH and posterior repair. I have another two weeks before next exam. Dr said I'm healing and swollen and not to touch it inside yet at all. He said it will heal flat. At 4 weeks (before he scolded me) I went in an inch to see what was going on in there. Awful bumpy thick mess. I'm happy to ignore it now and hope by week 8 it's normal again.

I did the same as you and felt shocked to feel the bumpy mess also. Was starting to think I'd been botched up. It's very depressing, the worse thing was that it was all unexpected, I went for the hysterectomy and they did that at the same time as said it needed doing, so saved a further op at different date I suppose, which is much better, but was so shocked. How are you recovering with the hysterectomy side of things? I just get a tugging bruised feeling, more on the right side really. I'll be four weeks on Friday and have got a 6 week sick note. Don't want to go back then tho, I do a lot of lifting with the special needs kids at work and am hoping the doctor will extend my sick note for a bit longer. How long will you be off? Feel so much better talking to someone who has had the same surgery.take care X

I'm now nearly 14 weeks post op. The lump is still there and sensitive it moved a certain way. The dr keeps saying it will flatten but I doubt it at this point. How are you doing?
