Groin pain

hi Girls,
Im 9 days post total abdominal hysterectomy.
Im controlling the pain well and each day feel stronger. my only complaint it groin pain. I cant lift my leg very without my groin pain. I am getting shooting pain and it make me jump off the couch. Has anyone experienced this type of pain? I was thinking maybe I am over compensating for my abdoinal muscles....

I felt odd kinds of pains, ranging from sharp to throbbing and mild to severe. My told me it was just the result of all my parts (including my nerves) trying to recover from the trauma of the surgery. Although I did feel occasional pain like you describe, it was mostly gone by the time I returned to work.

Does it help if you take your pain medication or over-the-counter pain relief? If not, you might want to give your doctor a call just to check.

Yeah weird stuff happens after the hyster for me anyway for quite some time. Right when I think all is normalized sumthing weird or odd happened. I would think the groin pain is normal..I had lot of it. Don't forget you really get put through the grinder with this surgery especially the groin (that was one of the worst parts for me as I needed hip surgery 3 months after ...that area hurt the hell out of me due to the positionings!!) The abdonminal muscles are confused and will give you a pulling sensation & pains on left or right side of belly button area ..a tugging sense to come. I suggest heat & ice...it sounds lame but it is a good idea & walk get moving...watch the bending though for awhile!
