Is bleeding after sex normal?

Hi, I hope someone can help. I had my hysterectomy (kept my ovaries, but had cervix removed) and bladder lift September 28/06. I had to wait a full 8 weeks before hubby and I could have sex due to slow healing. It is now the 21st of Jan and I am still bleeding after sex. Is this normal?

Does your do doctor know you are having issues with bleeding after intercourse? There can be granulation that causes bleeding or vaginal dryness.

It would be a good idea to call your doctor's office and let him/her know what is happening!

No, it's not normal and something your doc needs to know - and even check out.

Now that I've said that - please don't panic... otherwise you are fine, right? No weird, stinky discharge, no massive pain (soreness after sex is normal for awhile)....

My doctor told me to expect some bleeding after I had sex the first few times. I didn't, but it wasn't considered abnormal to have some bleeding. Call your doctor, the nurse may be able to help even. As long as it isn't heavy bleeding, I wouldn't worry, but I would check with the docs office.

Hi, thanks for the info. I called the doctor today and I have an appointment on Wednesday, pretty quick, so I guess the nurse thought it was important.
