Medcial terminology?

I have my pathology report but don't speak "medical". Does anyone know what "sections of the cervix show chronic inflamation and reative metaplastic changes"? That's part of what's written on my pathology report. I was aware that my right ovary needed to be removed because of a cyst and also had total hysterectory because of fibroids and polyp. Doctor did not mention anything abnormal about cervix.

That terminology is usually used when cells in the cervix look hyperplastic (larger than normal) and can signify many things. If your cervix was removed when they did the hyst, the problem is gone and you have nothing to worry about. It is usually tough to get a pathologist to call and explain a report to you but if you call the RN at your doctors office, she should be able to get an explanation for you.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, cervix removed so I'm not worried about it, just curious. I have another post-op appointment next week and will ask the dr. to explain in detail.
